About Dr. Tschetter

I was born in Huron, SD, and attended Huron Schools and, eventually, Huron College. From there, I entered Johns Hopkins Medical School in Baltimore, MD, and then interned at Johns Hopkins Hospital. I then completed my 4-year residency in ophthalmology at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. After two years as head of Ophthalmology at Barksdale AFB in Shreveport, Louisiana, I moved back to Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
I served as medical director and manager of the practice while continuing to practice medical ophthalmology and perform eye surgeries. In 1996 the practice had grown to the point where we had six ophthalmologists and 33 employees. With the addition of a dedicated management team, I was able to specialize in my primary interest, cataract surgery. Throughout my career, I have performed over 15,000 surgical procedures.
In June of 2014, I left Ophthamology Ltd. And moved to Butte, MT where I formed a new entity called Big Sky Eye Physicians. After acquiring the practice of Robert T. Noble, I continue to practice medical ophthalmology and provide the highest quality of care and experience for all of my patients in this wonderful city.R.T. Tschetter, M.D.
